Join the Masses

(no subject)

Today I hear the illustrious Himesh Reshmiya (now his name features even in my blog!) in office.
A colleague brought a CD of songs, of which unfortunately only the Himesh ones run, rest are invalid copies. Sigh. piracy and its risks.
Well anyway, I heard this song which none other than sashdude had informed me of. Though I had tried looking for it on TV, it was without reaping any harvest.

So, today I hear the Famous "Love you O Saiyonee" was heard by me.
The lyrics go something like
"Dil se pooch le
Jaan se pooch le
Jahan se pooch le
tujh pe hai sif mer Hak!
I Love you O Saiyonee - 3
Koi Shaque?

translation? prepare to die
"ask my heart
ask my soul
Ask the World
Only I have rights over you
i love you oh darling
Any doubts?

I mean....WHO? WHAT? WHY? HOW????!!!!
the music goes something like a bad poet trying to read out his creation but failing miserably as he cant read his handwriting. and therefore there is an unecessary drag at the end of each line, while the beginnning is hurried through before he misses the train.

This beats Bappi Lahiri hollow. I shall refrain fro laughing at songs like
"(You are my chicken fry
You are my fish fry) - 2
kabhii naa kahanaa kudiye bye bye bye

[Girl dont ever say bye bye bye]

at least it has more sense, and follows one theme. does not spring from love to erm...whatsup. Oh yeah..remember Im being comparitive here.

People are crazy and times are strange

How natural it is for some people to accept the ways of society. To marry when it is considered 'normal' to. TO have kids ..all within a certain 'acceptable' time limit.
There are people (men and women. Infact more men than women) who look forward to getting married, and some other, who dont think about it at all. Its natural for them to get married when their parents talk about it, and have kids within a year or so of the same.
And then there are some people like me, who get nightmares at the thought. Am I a part of that smaller group?

I think in more people who are in the same situation as me - earning, living in a different city, enjoying life, and who enjoy independance, marriage will have the same effect, in most cases. Basically, I am not rare, just not the same as those who dont mind gettin married and having children a little earlier in life, with a person they perhaps barely know.

Well, they may find me wierd by their standards. So its even ... kinda... i guess.

Who is 'Self Made'!?

We admire some people, and we dont admire others.
Partners love something about each other.
Yet, how many of these things are actually their own?

The beautiful lady was born with genes that made her pretty. The only thing she can control is whether she 'maintains' herself.

The tall person was born that way. As was the short one. Nothing they can do about it.

The person called intelligent had the genes to activate those brains when born.

The talent of running fast, of painting, of having a talent of gift is based on which part of the brain was tickled more, usually thanks again to parental genes.

Even our names are something given to us by our parents.

What then is the self-made person? The fat guy who became fat because of overeating? The anorexic girl? The workaholic forced by circumstances?
Who can say that their reflexes are exaggerated responses to circumstances, not caused by a lower resistance to external influences. Who can say why some people will end up being fiercely competitive while others wont? And why still others will run away. Is it again, genes?

The circumstances and external environment may change, but are our responses already programmed? How much does external environment actually mould us? It only helps in exaggerating our in-built characteristics.

Are we but pre-programmed mechanisms in different realities? And when the realities are over, so are our cycles of life.
An iteration of reflexes.
By whom?
The same characteristics in different societies.
The same fish in different waters.

What is it then that we can call our own? The person whom we create using our genes? The cocktail of characteristics that will be made? Is that our only 'claim to individulalism' finally?
Is that the only thing that can be written down as "our own"? Because we are not "our own".

No I dont subscibe to this view point, but just found this line of thought interesting.
