Various

This song - 'I fall apart' from Vanilla Sky has a catchy tune. I like the way its sung, though the 4 lines of the song could have been better sung. Rather amateurish, but thats its charm. Something about it captures the movie too. If I havent written about Vanilla Sky, let me say its a must-see, awesome movie. Painful is the right adjective actually.

Server was down since morning, and couldnt connect yesterday. It seems like the server here doesnt work more than 50% of the time, and for the rest my comp doesnt work.

Nuances of common Gujrati:(as learnt from colleagues)
Vivah -      means marriage in Hindi                                                means engagement in Gujju
Lehenga -  means the full skirt worn by tribal women in hindi etc.      means cloth worn as dhoti by men in Gujju
And some more which I cannot recall right now.

So next week moms in town, and still havent had chance to meet BB and ask for leave. Contemplating trip to delhi in Jan. Will depend on leave status post mom visit :/ Afterall the final budgeting excercise is also next week. So are some other stupid read 'crucial' meetings. Meetings. Bah.
Still have to plan 31st. Wonder what to do this time round. Going to one of those DJ nights/ parties are such a bore finally.

Spent a nice Sunday with the US regulatory head of previous company who was in town, rather nice meeting her. With updates from the company, and her visiting India the first time after the FDA approval, she was rather animated...or was it my presence? ;)

December took its time coming, but finally it seems chock full.

of flash sites and such

Hey cool. My last entry was no 381, my (shortened) birthday/yr ;)

After I saw SashdudeSashdude's yesterdays mail on leekspin, I had to open the badgerbadgerbadger site. Somehow I like it, even though its bugging. I like the accent for "badger' with the "d" being pronounced somewhere.

So then, like for Leekspin where I ended up on wikipedia (and uselessly and quite failingly tried to sing along), I found better & more uncouth delight in badger-3 site, and its later updates. Potter-3 being one of the better ones in my opinion. Definitely better than a girl singing about cooking some spring onion. :) Though its hard to imagine those words actually making sense. Seems out of an enid Blyton gibberish page, with "dippy" thrown in for good measure.

Considering that my company has blocked the official badger-3 site under "downloading freeware and ssareware" its a wonder the rest of them opened. (of course there are so many other places where badger-3 is shown).

So I educated a colleague (the only available one) on the beauty and difference of these endless looped flash things.

I know there are zillions more, but I still like Badger, and potter, and footy...and who can forget the Arrgh! Snake!

FunnyK schism

PS - K is supposed to be an inherently funny word (read the Examples of reference to the concept on the page).

then why arent the K-soaps funny? Imagine all India soap audience laughing everytime that ong starts - Kyunki Saas bhi... blah blah blah or Kkusum, or Kahani ghar Ghar ki, or..whatever. I cant remember all the soap names can I?

And yeah, part of ragging in college was replacement of the I-card rules with a certain word, or replacing description of "sweet" with girl/boy freind in 10 sentences. It rules.
